One of the fastest-growing financial groups in Southeastern Europe, in the majority ownership of Aleksandar Kostić, has officially acquired a 74.9% stake in Hipotekarna Banka in Montenegro. With the acquisition of Hipotekarna Banka, AikGroup’s net assets reach EUR 10 billion, while the Group remains focused on further regional expansion and on creating value in the business environment through strategic investments in digitalization and customer experience.
This transaction marks the completion of the acquisition process initiated in December 2024, when AikGroup signed an agreement to purchase 7,620,620 shares of the leading Montenegrin bank. Following the receipt of all required regulatory approvals from the Central Bank of Montenegro and the Competition Protection Agency, as well as the fulfillment of all closing conditions, the transaction was finalized today at a price of EUR 9.77 per share.
